Lacrosse Players & Stripper Case

I've been following this case with the Lacrosse players a bit; I think she's lying.

3rd Duke Lacrosse Player Is Indicted in Rape Case
By SHAILA DEWAN
DURHAM, N.C., May 15 — A third lacrosse player was indicted Monday in the rape investigation that has raised racial and class tensions between Duke University and its hometown.

David F. Evans, 23, of Bethesda, Md., a team captain who lived in the house where a black woman says she was sexually assaulted by three white players during a party, was charged with rape, first-degree sexual offense and kidnapping. Mr. Evans was indicted on the same charges as two of his teammates, Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, N.J., and Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, N.Y., who surrendered April 18.

You know...when this first happened I was really upset that immediately nobody believed her because SHE was a black stripper and THEY were a bunch of nice preppy white guys just minding their business while hiring...strippers.

I also thought of Michael Skakel and William Kennedy Smith and Robert Chambers and all these other squeaky clean white guys who were rapists/murderers and NOBODY could (or wanted to) believe it because they were white, uptight, and outta sight. SURE, Jennifer Levin was some sex-crazed horn dog who was dying for erotic asphyxiation in Central Park! It was ALL HER FAULT.

So many times the defense lawyers and media blame the vicitm that I get outraged on behalf of the victim. I also have a huge chip on my shoulder regarding the privilidged to begin with. Lacrosse? How preppy is that? It's the second whitest sport EVER. Of course they would have more power than a lowly black stripper.

However...false accusations of rape really stick in my craw: not only are decent men unfairly dragged through the mud, but it makes it THAT MUCH HARDER for a REAL VICTIM OF RAPE to be heard without being immediately being shamed or suspected of lying. They put women in jail in Pakistan for being raped because THEY committed adultery. We might not do that here, but we don't exactly make it easy for the thousands of women who are raped every year to come forward and prosecute their attackers and see it through all the way to the end.

If this woman is indeed lying -- and I will admit that if I were on the jury and heard everything I've BEEN hearing -- No DNA of Lacrosse players, evidence of sexual activity with someone she knew -- the story changing, etc. I'd have a hard time convicting them.

Sorry, but I feel a rant coming on. I haven't been following this case and I don't know if she's lying or not. But what really pisses me off is the sex industry(strippers, porn, etc.) It's not sexually liberating to sell out your body for the fucking almighty dollar, it's more like desperation. These kind of men look at these kind of woman, not as humans, but as a set of tits and a pussy, there for nothing but their sexual pleasure. So it's not a big stretch for me to believe that if things get out of control rape could happen. America is so fucked up, Hooter's is a family restaurant and at the same time people freak out when a woman breastfeeds in public. "Oh my God! Breasts have another purpose besides getting men off?" It all comes down to the dick and the dollar. How depressing.

Yeah, I agree with bowling with no panties-- I totally wanted to believe her, because not only do I despise overly-privledged college athletes, but I didn't understand why someone would lie about getting raped. And I definately try to disagree with Sean Hannity as much as possible.
But then again, most of this story isn't adding up.
