Shakira denies being a feminist

Colombian singer Shakira has said that she does not think of herself as a feminist, just that she is a strong woman with masculine qualities.
The Objection Tango singer signed a record deal with Sony aged just 14 and says that she has had to remain strong and indeed slightly aggressive to survive in the recording industry.
She said: "I'm not a feminist, no. At least I wouldn't like to hang that sign around my neck.
"I feel very much in touch with the woman in me, but I think I have taken somehow a more masculine approach in life - especially in the way I deal with my affairs.
"And when I say masculine I guess I say aggressive, you know the way I approach my dreams, the way I chase them."
Shakira has just released a new single in the US, Hips Don't Lie, which features Wyclef Jean.

Wouldn't that sort of mean she WAS a feminist, since she's not subordinate to THE MAN???
When did "feminist" become the F word?
As long as women aren't equal to men in the eyes of the law, as long as husbands still kill their wives instead of divorcing them, as long as I personally still feel creepy walking alone late at night pretty much anywhere, I am a feminist and I don't care who knows it. Shakira is a wimp.
